Day 1.5 - The Road

You know it’s a road trip when on the first day of the trip, all you do is drive.

It gets kind of boring after a while.

Unless, of course, you’re bunny.

She gets to sit up front, which makes the 5 ½ hours you are on the road a lot more fun.

Today, we basically drove from Moses Lake, Washington to Meridian, Idaho.

I say day 1.5 because yesterday we had to drive up to Moses Lake for my little brother’s math contest. It doesn’t really count as part of the road trip.

After about 2 hours of sitting up front, Bunny got bored.

We’re trying something new on this trip, Foxy came along with us.

She’s going to be the co-star of the blog!

(Maybe just for this trip, we’ll see how it goes.)

Hey! I can hear you Kayl.

Oops… Sorry.

“It’s ok Foxy. We’ll still be bestest buddies!”

“Anyway, I’m super exited for this trip! We’re going to go see lots of cool National Parks, like Arches, Canyon lands, Zion; and some National Monuments like Dinosaur, Natural Bridges, and Cedar Breaks. It’s going to be lots of fun.”

We are also going through 4 states; Washington, Oregon, Idaho, & Utah.

“Wow. I am super excited to see a lot of Utah.”

A lot of stuff in the states between Washington and Utah is stuff we’ve seen before. This trip is mostly focused on Utah. Once we get there, we will be spending week jumping all over Utah.

Because Foxy and Bunny were bored, they 'borrowed' (without asking) my phone to put together this map. Bunny has no computer skills whatsoever, so Foxy had to do a lot of the legwork while Bunny tried to remember what cities we had been to.

I was kind of mad, but Bunny just gave me this look…

“We’re sorry Kayl…”

Fine. I’ll let it go, if you also make a map from yesterday.

“Ok! Foxy can do that.”

What? Why me? It was your idea.

“Um.. You’re so much better at it.”

Bunny. Help her with it.

Even though it was only an hour shorter, it seems like a lot less.

Hey Kayl?

Yeah Foxy? What’s up?

I just wanted to let you know that Bunny didn’t actually help.

BUNNY!!

I was using some of the endless car time to make some para-cord bracelets for my family, and Bunny and Foxy wanted to be my models.

This isn’t a very comfortable necklace.

But this is a pretty cool belt!"

Actually, that’s supposed to be a bracelet.

“Are you kidding! That’s way too big to be a bracelet. It makes a cool sash though!”

Well, at least their having fun. :)

We pulled into the hotel at 10:00 pm… But we had crossed a time zone and lost an hour. So it was actually 11:00. See you tomorrow!

Tomorrow’s Hint:

This might seem similar…

“Similar to what?”
